The Influence Of Junior's Cartoons

Junior uses his cartoons as an outlet for the events in his life. They are often comical depictions of serious events or are used to show what something was like without having to describe it. His cartoons are hilarious most of time, they're usually exaggerated, like the picture of Penelope's dad. Junior draws him to the resemblance of a slug with a human face. He makes him look menacing and and grotesque at the same time, and ironically captions is "#1 candidate for father-of-the-year award". Junior may be doing this so he doesn't take being verbally assaulted by Earl, Penelope's dad, to heart and let it affect him more. Later in the diary, Gordy helps Junior understand that his cartoons are more than just silly pictures. "You read a book
