Additionally, given the development of grit as an enabler of positive outcomes and the documented influence of achievement goals on student success, there is a need however to further understand the relationships among these variables as these variables have mainly been treated separately in the research literature and thus, little is known about how these personality variables relate to one another. Gutman & Schoon (2013) noted that “there is no single non-cognitive skill that predicts long-term outcomes. Rather key skills are inter-related and need to be developed in combination with each other”. Thus, this condition needs to be further investigated, and hence justifies the need to conduct this study. The idea of integrating grit and achievement
