It can be seen in today 's ever changing education system and society that is crucial to consider factors that may be contributing to this shift. First, it is important to consider a definition of 21st-century learning and by doing so how this can impact your teaching overall, then by key features in traditional education. These features in traditional education can be seen to be less supportive of today 's 21st century like education. Next is new practices in the current 21st-century education such as the meaning of knowledge. Finally, factors that are overall contributing to educational change such as globalisation and social changes. However, a third which is seen to be a social change but is helping drive change is technology advantages. Currently, two umbrella terms are the most reoccurring factors which are globalisation and social change. Curriculum & Leadership Journal, what is driving curriculum reform in Australia, 2016 explores globalisation as it has allowed us to be more able to understand cultures and circumstances which in turn means that children will be exposed to social issues that are generated from globalisation and by this the curriculum needs to allow this to occur. Churchill, Ferguson, Godhino, Johnson, Nagel, Keddie & Letts, 2011 further examines social change and determines that there are sub-factors that are contributing to social change including equity, contemporary teacher practice, political-economic trends and teachers making a difference. Hence social change is considered to be a broad concept and is visible in today’s teaching and learning. Technology itself is allowing better connectivity than ever before such as allowing parents to see their child’s progress to even implementation of technology into the classroom context. Both of these technology advancements to parents and children can definitely be considered in a classroom environment as a school is incorporating technology more and more into their teaching to students. Although there change to education is significant to students, change in education is important to teachers as well. Why education change is important to teachers is that teachers are able to teach better children that are more diverse than ever and also technology can play a part in the teaching to students which allow better optimal learning by all. Overall it is important that education changes as it allows children to be most prepared for the real world and teachers are able to continue to teach students the skills that will enable them to be an active participant in
