Culture is defined as the values, beliefs, attitude and practices accepted by members of a group or community. As a whole, team sports and each individual sport are their own type of culture in America that we all may or may not have taken apart in currently or growing up as kids. As it says in the text book for this class “Culture is learned, not inherited” people cannot inherit skills to play a sport they must be taught how to play the sport. With every sport there are different ways culture is presented through rituals, rules, chants, etc. For an example when I was on the swim team in high school, we would always do some sort of chant battle with the other team(s) to get us “ready” to start the swim meet.
