The Influence Of Cheryl's Walk On The Trail

Cheryl began her first day of week three on the trial walking with Doug and Tom who

she had met along the way. She then felt the need to travel alone so she made of an excuse to

stay back and separate herself from the others. Later that night, she caught back up with them.

The next day she started to walk the trail alone. Cheryl came across her first large obstacle of

snow but she managed to make it through using her ice ax. She hadn’t thought about how

dangerous the snow would actually be and that made her consider how dangerous the Sierra

might be to travel alone. The snow made walking on incline extremely difficult and could result

in her go off trail. Cheryl came to the decision to bypass like another fellow Greg decided to

Eventually she made it past the snow and began to wonder if she had lost the trail.

The people around her was of no help, anytime she asked where she was they all responded

California. Cheryl continued her hike unaware of her surroundings. It felt as if she was going in

circles. Later into her hike she was offered a ride to Packer Lake Lodge which was only a day’s

walk from Cheryl’s destination. That made her realize that she had not made it as far as she

hoped when walking in the snow. She happily agreed to the ride.

She met a woman who stayed in a cabin

nearby with her family. The kind lady invited Cheryl over so that she could shower and they

even offered Cheryl food. Soon after, Cheryl ended up at a campground a few miles from the

trail. It was already dark so Cheryl decided to stay the night on the outskirts of the campground

due to her money issue. Still the owners of the campground found her and made her evacuate.

With no choice she began walking to the trail.

When Cheryl reached the trail she was finally able to get some rest. After waking up she

decided to hike along the highway to avoid anymore snow. While walking she was approached

by a group of guys who convinced her to met up with them later. When she met up with them

she drank and shared a joint with them.

The next morning Cheryl finally received her resupply box at Belden Town. There is

where she met the two women who were the first women she had seen yet. There was also a guy

there named Brent who agreed that her shoes were too small as well. Cheryl had been offered a

drink on the house by a bartender who had been hitting on her all night, but she declined his
