How did one man change American History so drastically? Abraham Lincoln he was different from the previous presidents because he noticed things that were wrong and he committed his life to making it right. Abraham had the will, strength, courage, and morality to help America overcome issues. How did this outgoing and intelligent man come to be? Where and was Abraham born, who was he, what were his greatest contribution to American History, and why is he still known today?

Lincoln proved to the people that he was a shrewd military strategist and a savvy leader. His emancipation proclamation paved the way for slavery’s abolition in 1862. Abraham was also a politician in Illinois. He had served several terms in the state legislature and one term in U.S House of Representatives.
Abraham's greatest contribution to American History was countering slavery even though he had preserved the Union during the Civil War. Lincoln wanted this American issue to resolve peacefully. On January 1st 1863, Abraham Lincoln had freed all the slaves who rebelled. Even though he wasn’t an abolitionist he still knew slavery was wrong and he was determined to end it. The ending of slavery still had a lasting impact on American History because it gave African Americans the right to vote, speak freely, and have land.
Abraham is still very known today, even after two hundred and eleven years. Lincoln's brave acts are still an example to all. People even today look up to Lincoln because he was one of the most outstanding presidents of the time. Abraham understood what most presidents didn’t and he put his ideas into action.
