The industrial revolution was an integral part of American history, which coincided with massive economic growth due to new inventions and a larger demand for goods. The term “industrial revolution” was first credited to Louis Guillaume Otto, a French Envoy. He coined the term in a letter dated July 6th 1799 stating that France had entered a competition of sorts to industrialize. This “revolution” began in the mid-1700s and lasted through the mid-1800s.
