The main reason for this declaration comes from another declaration, the Declaration of Independence. “The history of the present King of Great Britain is a history of repeated injuries and usurpations, all having in direct object the establishment of an absolute Tyranny over these States” (Independence). Instead of focusing on what the people of America need, Jefferson only focuses on how Britain has wronged the colony leaders. In a rather childish manner, the subject was changed to avoid a topic that Jefferson did not want to discuss.
