The Inaccuracies Of Hollywood In The Film Kingdom Of Heaven

We all know that Hollywood changes things from real life events in the movies that they produce so they can entertain the audience and make the subject they are covering more interesting. A prime example of this is the film Kingdom of Heaven. Hollywood has filled this movie with explosions, gore, and twisted the story to make it more to their liking. The point of this essay is to help inform someone who has no knowledge of how this time period be able to see through the inaccuracies of this movie. I will be covering three of the major things that Hollywood has changed in this movie. The first of the three thing is The knighting process. In the movie balian knighted every man who was able to take up arms, but typically the process began when the boy was an infant. The boy would live in a lord or knights manor and be raised by the lady of the manor and when the boy turned 7 he became a page. While the boy was a page he would be taught how to hunt by a huntsman and about religion by a priest or chaplain. When the boy turned 14 he became a squire and would receive a sword in a ceremony and be assigned to a lord's manor where he would take care of a particular duty.
