Its teaching way is not all-arounded as it focuses on introducing music that is familiar to students’ music experiences but not something that is new and alien to them. New things do not necessary means it can’t relate to students’ music experience. Such teaching way is far from the basic goal of education—extend the view and grasp, to both challenges and develop confidence in coping them. Hence, a balanced music education should relate Western music with other traditions, both non-Western and popular. Nevertheless, when choosing which other music to relate to involves one’s preference and familiarity, that means music education is partial. In my opinion, education is never impartial as it foregrounds the materials taught in it as more important than others. For example, when we read a textbook of the subject Accounting, the author will impose his/her subjective thoughts that accounting is very useful and significant in daily life and encourages readers to continue reading and learning it by relating the concepts of certain chapters they are reading to other chapters in the text
