College is a very difficult and stressful time of your life. You need to know that it will be worth it in the end. College is something you will should probably never do alone (Hauerwas). God is always there for you throughout your journey in college. In order to be a successful college student and follower of Jesus Christ you need to be a disciple of Christ, now your calling, and set your limits. To succeed in college, you need to be a disciple of Christ. According to Dallas Willard, “To be a disciple of Jesus is, crucially, to be learning from Jesus how to do your job as Jesus himself would do it” (Willard 285). Willard is trying to get you to understand that you need to be a follower of Jesus Christ and follow in his footsteps to help succeed in life. Everything you do needs to be in the glory of God. When you are being a disciple of Christ and following him, it will help you not give into peer pressure or any of the other temptations at college. Being a disciple will help you be a better Christian person all-around. If you are focused on God with all your heart, then everything will work out in the long run. …show more content…
When making the big decision on where to go to school at or the decision of what to major in, is a calling from Christ. According to Stanley Hauerwas, “Your calling is to be a Christian student” (Hauerwas). That is why you made the decision to go to a Christian liberal arts college. Going to a liberal arts college is not just about taking classes that are based upon your major, but classes that will help you become a well-rounded person. At times you may think your calling is not for you or the right decision, it will be worth it in the long run. You will have many callings in life, but you need to believe in yourself and go with your instinct. God is the one to help make decisions for your life and knows what is best for the future ahead of
