Essay On My Writing Skills

I can remember my battles with my writing assignments. Before I touched base at the phase of secondary school; I detested writing. My seventh grade English instructor Ms. Jacob was similar to a heap of salt poured on an open wound suffocated in alcohol. This blonde haired demon, as helpful as her techniques helped me facilitate my English interpretation skills, knew extremely well that my writing skills were poor contrasted with that of the rest of my class. Yet regardless she demanded grading my writing assignments the hardest. When I cleared out her class I felt just as my writing skills were parsecs beneath that of a fifth grader. Hence I went to the Bridge Program completely hoping to have the most exceedingly awful time in my life. I thought …show more content…
I figured out how to sort out my thoughts in short essays from the in eighth class writing essays. Notwithstanding I hadn 't connected it to a real full length essay. The main essay I was somewhat apprehensive to apply the idea I had learned. I just half connected it. In spite of the fact that it worked out really well when I was stagnating my development as a writer and I knew I might have been. The main thing more awful than not doing something, is not doing something and realizing that you didn 't do it. I needed to completely apply the idea regardless of what the outcomes were. In the event that I didn 't then I would never develop as a writer. Along these lines alternate essays came and I very neglected to sort out the essay the way I said I would. I lost all sense of direction in the subtle elements like regular; my overeager of description overpowered my thoughts once more. When the second draft of our second essay came around I composed a note to myself to appropriately sort out my thoughts so that my essay so dynamically sparkling with the light of description could have the coherency to be comprehended in the correct request. Indeed, even the students composed feedback about being lost in the essay. In this way I organized my essay altogether when modifying the second draft. I really preferred what I composed without precedent for quite a while. I was really getting a charge out of writing for a

When it comes to writing I am too hard on myself. I can finish writing a whole paragraph or two, only to press the backspace bar and delete my work. When it came to writing my first essay I did not turn it in on time because I was not confident in my writing. In the first essay, I had to analyze every question I was asking myself. It was easy for me to answer the question, but hard for me to actually go more into detail about the answer I had given.…

When I learned about drafts, I wanted nothing to do with them. I thought they were just extra essays to write. I tried to dodge the drafts for as long as possible until it was required in the class. I begrudgingly worked on the draft and found out it was more perception than poison. Due to drafting, I was able to find holes in my theses and points in my essays that didn 't work.…

Reflective essay Writing was very hard for me. There were many mistakes I made before 211, but now I feel much more comfortable writing my essay and I will be successful in Ewrt 211. Before 211, I was a writer that didn’t understand much about writing and I often made my reader confuse. Every time I had to write an essay about something for the class, I didn’t know how to organize my ideas and I didn’t know how to put them together. I jumped into writing without second thought and wrote what was on my mind.…

When I first signed up for the fall semester course English 101, I did not think much of it at first. I Simply thought it would be another writing course with boring prompts and no challenge similar to high school, but I was wrong. In this semester alone I learned more about writing mechanics, structure, heading, organizing and sourcing than I had previously in my high school career. This being said I was not prepared for this course and did not earn the grades I wanted, but I learned from all my mistakes as I wrote each paper it became slightly better. I feel that high school does not do an adequate job at preparing you for the difficulty and challenge that is created in this environment.…

As we got into our first assignment in class, I started to convince myself that this is going to be horrible because I did not relate with writing in the first place. After the first assignment, I concluded that the writing would not be so bad. When I got my results back it was a different story. When I glanced at what was wrong, I knew what my problem was; I indicated using spell checked everything but I was totally wrong. I did not use enough detail in my story, also my grammar was way off and it did not help that I had a…

In the beginning of the semester I entered class as a novice student. I knew my writing was okay, but I wanted it to get better. I feel as though writing is the only way I can make people sit and listen to what I have to say. However If they are unable to fully grasp my ideas or emotions in my words then really I am just as silenced as I am when I speak. Coming into class I knew I had a way I was used to writing but I did not know if my writing was truly effective.…

When I stare at a blank word document my mind becomes scattered. Writing has always been something that has never came easy to me. I always felt like the way I worded things, or explained myself in a paper wasn 't good enough compared to all the other people in my classes. Then, just recently I figured out that if I write for myself and things that I feel strongly about then when I am staring at a blank word document the words will come easy to me, and will start to flow. This is why I wrote, and why I write.…

When I think about the thinking’s and writings I did this semester, I feel that I didn’t put much effort and I could have done much better. Overall, I Think I did pretty well following the paragraph formats, which have been at the most helpful when writing, but at times, I fail to pay close attention to what I write when editing, which causes my paper to contradict itself. And the biggest of all, I tend to neglect going back to recheck at times with the rough drafts to subtract the biggest errors that I may have made! This is one of the main things that I have to focus on in order to better myself when writing papers. However, more than just a chance to reflect on what I’ve done this semester, one of the skills I have learned from this class…

I used them to make my point instead of support to my point. After speaking with you about my Writing Project 2 rough draft I set to work and reworked some of the stories I included, which I was too attached to at the time to completely remove. I added more of my thoughts and opinions and tried to write with a little less intention of pulling at the heartstrings of the reader. Slowly throughout the semester I successfully weaned myself off of them completely. Not to say that I will not use them in the future, but for this semester I wanted to gain more writing experience without what was already a strong point of mine in order to sharpen my other skills.…
