Leaving high school my ignorance of rapidly wanting to become an adult had lead me with a few regrets. Throughout high school my thought process was to quickly finish high school, enter college and graduate quickly and start my career as an Aquatic Specialist specializing on salt water inhabitance. Foolishly my mind was keeping it simple and lead me to believing that college was easily said than done. Entering college at Fresno State in my opinion was the easiest part, but maintaining efficient grades was the most difficult task. Soon enough as the year ended I confusingly finishing off my first year of college and I feel that I had manage to finish the year standing behind the average group students. I say this because I feel that my lack …show more content…
When hearing that from my professor I had thought to myself “Aren’t those technically the same thing?”, moving forward with the course I had learned that I had mistakenly jumped into conclusion. Assuming that they were the same thing but as I had proceed the course I came to realization that they are two separate parts, that are the requirements of what I should be able to identify at the end of this English 5B course.
One of the concept behind how to read an academic paper was learning how to understand how authors “Write essays in sentences but how they write essays in Paragraph”(Maniquiz).
It took me quite some time to fully understand how to identify the author 's thesis statement, its example because I was always dragged into the process of learning examples from others. As key thing that I had learned and improved on was to quickly break down the examples and explain the quotes, then after located where or why the writer had placed the paragraphs in its chronological order. Gaining the experience of how to separate examples and context clues had help me identify where the thesis statement are located had given me more confident to understand how to write an Academic
