So, I had enrolled in Penn Foster’s Medical Assistant Associate’s degree program. I do find it enormously hard to complete all my coursework and my other day-to-day responsibilities. Currently, I am only taking the English Composition course. I really appreciate English Composition because I can learn new techniques for writing. The mandatory readings for my English Composition course involves my full attention, I do find all the writing assignments for my English Composition course very exciting and I think that it would be relevant for my future career, but it’s very draining with the amount of effort and time I must put into each paper. I need to have at least a two to three-hour window of time in order to get any of my coursework completed and that is extremely hard to come by with everything that I need to get done during the day with everything else that is going on with my life. Usually, I try to get some study time around 9:00am after my daughter has gone to school and I got at least one to two loads of laundry done. First, I made a dedicated office area in our spare bedroom, since we hardly use it for any visitors. I got a desk lamp for better lighting while I do my coursework and added my bookshelf in there which I had organized with all my work materials and study guides and books. I can close the door whenever so that I am not getting interrupted or bothered while I am studying. I even made a door handle that says, “Do Not Bother, I’m Studying”. I had advised my family that I will be unavailable each weekday between 9:00am and 12:00pm, and I turn off my phone and do not log into any of my email accounts or messaging services on my laptop during my study time, to avoid any temptation. My new little office has made everything so much easier for me to get my work done, and now that I got laid off from work, I am now completely back on track with all my coursework. Second, I made a weekly calendar for the kitchen wall to plan out our weekly meals instead of trying to figure out what to make each night for dinner. I also decided to start making a grocery list based on our weekly meal plans in order to save time while I grocery shop. Before I had decided to make these changes, I had wasted
