Every person is different, so they need to analyze each of them as separately. Maybe what works for a person does not work for others. As Savickas et al. mentioned in their paper, the life- designing models pretend to help people to endorse a career story that support adaptive and flexible responses to developmental tasks and occupational transitions. From my point of view, adaptability can be defined as the ability to use self -regulation strategies such as, primary and secondary strategies. Some people that are very stress with their jobs psychological and physical demands tend to view retirement in a positive way. I think they see retirement as a way to escape from all the stressors that are related with their jobs. These people are more likely to go through the process of retirement in a more smooth way. They try to engage in volunteer activities to not feel isolation, and to avoid negative outcomes after retirement.
