The Importance Of Who Am I

Every person has different gifts but there is one gift in all people that should be developed and that is growing closer to the Lord each day. As I have tried to figure out who I am for the last nineteen years, growing closer to God has shaped who I have become. I understand that I not only have an earthly father that loves me but I also have a heavenly Father who loved me enough to create me, die for me, and redeem me. In fact, I am a princess and flawless in His eyes. As I continue to grow in a relationship with the Lord, I never want to stop growing in the love that I have for Him.

This happens if I do not complete something perfectly, then I am probably going to criticize myself unfairly. This weakness is something I have always struggled with and it affects every day. I am beginning to learn that I am not going to be perfect, but I think I will always struggle with perfectionism because I need to strive to be perfect so I can do the best I possibly can. Some might not think this is a weakness, but it can cause me to be too hard on myself and to never be content. One area that shows my passion is basketball. Whenever I step onto the court, I go out with so much passion and drive to complete the task at hand. In addition to passionate, my friends would describe me as sassy because I am feisty at times. For example, if someone says something rude to me, I will respond with a lot of sass. Also in my life, I have always been the child who knows how to get what I want and if one of my friends or even teammates does not do what I want, I respond with sassiness. Lastly, my friends would say that I am thoughtful because I always listen and want to know what is going on in their life. I will go ask people how are they doing and be thoughtful and genuine about it. When they are telling me, I am a good listener, however I am sure that during other parts of the day they think I do most of the talking.
