Water is found on almost 70 percent of the earth 's surface yet so limited amounts of it are either potable or useful to us. Water is an essential part of life because we use it daily for basic tasks such as showering, washing and even consuming it. Although we have a shortage of potable water we tend to disregard and even waste our water so much that most of it ends up unused. In Anaheim we are experiencing a severe drought and it is much more crucial for those who live there to find innovative and useful ways of conserving and preserving water. An hour long broadcasting on simple solutions that anyone could do at home such as fixing a leaky faucet, switching to different methods of irrigation of plants, and only using your washing machine on a full loads to reduce the water usage could greatly improve the way people use water. According to Lear the way to help the most is by getting the word across the community of Anaheim, that we are in fact in a crises where there should be actions taken to actually use water at a sustainable rate like “Making sure every tap in your home has a high efficiency faucet aerator” which would try to prevent things such as depletion (Lear). This would ultimately be a way to just get the people educated on conservative habits. Those who don 't listen to the radio could be benefited and educated by getting letters or mail, in which they are being told how to effectively help their community and simple ways which they can improve, their water wasting habits. By showing people progress or just statics on the amount of water that they used could make them become aware of just how much they waste. The mailed letter could include things such as policies and regulations on what sustainable cities should look like and what impacts it has on communities.
