In the introduction, we learned the meaning of virtue and why it is vital in leadership. Also, we found out what the rest of the book will be talking about, which is eight rules in eight chapters. This book helps us learn to steer clear from being one of the targets of the corruption that goes on in this world. By following these eight virtues one can become a special leader. This book, then discusses why it is specifically about leaderships and the three main reasons behind it. The first reason is it gives us character and lets us have human courtesy. Another reason is so we can grow instead of falling behind. If we do not have moral excellence it is obvious that there will be failure. This chapter showed us mistakes that should be avoided. Power is when you get a person to do an act of some sort without them wanting to do it. The three important functions of the leaders are firstly, leaders should have full authority. Secondly, they have to have the backs of the organization and thirdly, one of the major keys is they must make decisions. Some reasons these leaders are abnormal behavior by people are starting to encourage more and more bad behavior. Another reason is greed. Third the breakdown they have on the legal system. A few leaders see no wrongdoing in disobeying the law. In addition, leaders get themselves involved in many illegal practices. Some people think that they were too smarter than others. For example, Goldman Sachs people thought this way. These executives even had the nerve to ask for bigger bonuses because they thought they were more special. Another reason is the lack of discipline and the lack of control they have on themselves. An additional reason is there are young people who are not as experienced. A ninth reason is the perception leaders have got them in misfortune. Lastly, the rational choice for themselves got them into trouble. There are four leadership styles, these include systems theory, classical theory, contingency model lastly, human relations theory. The classical approach is looking at the worker as an object. The human relations focus is on treating the worker as a person instead of seeing them as objects. Many of the leaders had been money and power hungry. They really wanted to just have pockets filled by money. Third, some leaders mislead the people who depended on the as leaders. Finally, they really did not have any care. These leaders looked for as many loopholes they could find and took the utmost advantage of that. Many of these leaders were selfish and just not caring towards their workers.
