The main ideas of this perspective involve individual’s everyday behavior. Such as, communication of knowledge, ideas, beliefs, and attitudes. This perspective appeals to me because of it’s in depth quality. Getting to know an individual and how they work in a societal sense interests me because I always wonder why people act certain ways around others and in different groups. I do it enough to observe situations in my life and in other lives as well, because through this I can figure out and stimulate a general answer of why people act the way they do every day. Conflict theory is the reason we draw ourselves to power differentials. This theory can be applied to the working class and power hungry individuals in the upper class. This makes it so we can decide what is better for society. Perhaps functionalism is better for society, or, maybe they can work together in different ways. People should think for themselves and I think conflict theory provides that opportunity. Karl Marx was a socialist that wanted to equally distribute earnings between the bourgeoisie and proletariats.
