Each are important qualities to have as a human being. We need these qualities to be considered “successful” in society. The military life teaches not only the military member but their dependents respect. As a military child, I learned to respect all of my surroundings, all people including strangers, and to respect myself and my beliefs. Do you like being respected? Why not respect others as well; treat others like you would like to be treated. By going into the military, you would learn how to be respectful and how to be respected. It gives you an entirely different perspective. Responsibility, in the military, one is not only responsible for themselves, but are responsible for their fellow service-men and women. The military teaches the importance of doing things correctly from the beginning, and getting it done quickly. This skill is important to have through any part of life, it can help with time management and the quality of work. Have you ever met someone who had impressed you with a surprising amount of loyalty? What about loyalty for their country? Personally, I believe that loyalty for one’s country is most impressive, and one of the most inspiring. Loyalty is necessary in all aspects of life, in work, in relationships, in family. Whether an individual wants to make the military a career or if they want to serve just for a few years, there are advantages. When we are older, we look back at our lives, we want to be proud that we stood for something, that we helped fight for something or someone. When the elderly are asked what they regret most, the majority would list things that they had wished that they had done, rather than something that they had done. So why not do something, and stand up for something that is worth fighting
