My values and desired virtues in life are very important to myself today. They include family/friends, my health, my education, my freedom, and my talent of being able to play basketball. These values mean so much to me today and will forever mean alot to me because these certain values made me the women I am today. Little by little I have pieced choices in my life to have more good and peaceful choices in my future. Virtue to me means doing what’s considered morally good and with high moral standards. Knowing myself and my moral actions that promote human good throughout society to better myself and hopefully others. Taking what I’ve been taught/experienced reflects the certain habits I have developed.
A theory that really helps explain why these are my virtues and values is the theory of knowing yourself, your upbringing and your tenderness to act or not act in a particular situation. Actions are moral actions when they promote the human good. These ethical actions will lead toward goodness or at least away from greater harm. Having integrity means the person you are is the person you take to school, home, and your workplace. Basically making the best decision for yourself and knowing you are making the right decision because you know your life. For the second theory that states accepting the moral norms and rules outside the personal desires of individuals, this theory again goes great with looking outside of what your desires are and think about other factors that will affect the decision you made. For example if a woman decides to keep a baby instead of having an abortion then the woman has to think about financials, how to raise the baby the best way possible, and
