Universal health care will consequently cause the price of medication and medical bills to increase as well and people will be denied of the benefits that they need. Why would this increase the price of medicine and medical bills? All doctors’ visits and medicine that you need goes through insurance companies, and they pay for most of it. A study done by Drug Search, an online research company that explains the difference in which medicine would cost with or without insurance. The website sparked the thought how much does insurance effect the price of medication. According to Drug Search a “single pill with insurance will cost $0.43 to $1.99 without insurance it will cost between $0.72 to $3.36.” (Byrd). All of the money that is being used to fund universal healthcare would come from the middle class. That means that the bulk of the economy would be in strain in order to pay for a service most American people have. “This means that the middle class tax will be increased by 35 percent.” (Remuse). Basically, a universal tax will get rid of the class system and there will be no classes at all. The American economy will soon turn into a European economy which will not work in an American society. The middle class is the backbone of the American economy, if you put too much weight on your back it is going to break sooner than later. If the middle class cripples the American economy will be in shambles as we know it, since it’s the foundation. So the main question here that I’m asking is, would having a European healthcare system cripple the American health care service? In the European healthcare system, healthcare is provided through a wide range of different systems running through a national level. It is paid through private funding and non-subsidized healthcare would be an out of pocket service. If the American people decided to adapt a European healthcare system, would that make us more inclined to adopt the system of the EU in all aspect of our
