My Pilot Training Experience

Improved Essays
My goal hear at Laughlin AFB was and still is to graduate from Undergraduate Pilot Training. Throughout my life I have had to fight to achieve my goals and no matter how hard it become I never give up. I spent a lot of time contemplating the obstacles that have lead me to be in the situation that I am in. I believe that I have identified three, knowledge retention, airsickness, and an initial gap in training, that are the root cause.
When I started phase one of training I approached the academics in the same manor that I did in college, studying solely for the test. Shortly after starting the second phase of training I realized that this was not the correct way to approach the style of learning that the Air Force requires. It did not lead

From my dollar ride to half way through my 4300 block of training I became, for the first time in my life, airsick. It would occur quickly and often violently. I had episodes in the first block of training that incapacitated me to the point that all I could do was focus on not getting actively sick. Being that airsick eliminated valuable instructional time in the cockpit of the aircraft leading to decay in performance when compared to my peers.
I also entered pilot training with a long break from flying. I financially could only fly a very limited amount since earning my privet pilots license in 2014. I believe this gap in training is a factor as to why I have been airsick and the initial learning curve that I have faced compared to my (class mates) who went to IFT.
I am asking to be reinstated into Pilot Training. If given this chance; I will continue to use and adapt the study habits that I began developing while in Jug flight. When I realized that my study habits were hindering me I began paying attention to the members of my flight and how they studied. I started to mirror there habits and adapt them to my learning style. I also took the advice of my former Instructor Pilots and started participating in study groups both in the flight room as well as outside of it. Once I started doing this I immediately saw an increase in my knowledge retention and I expect this to continue; as I am still studying the

Almost four years ago, I entered Clackamas High School as a confused, shy, awkward freshman. Soon after entering the hallways of this school, I was assigned to a Freshman Assurance group and met with the group leaders. My group leaders were vivacious seniors, who were condescending and gave very little advice on high school. I felt a little intimidated by them, and the activities that they led made most of the freshmen in our group uncomfortable. They told us about their craziest stories and about the teachers who weren't of the most pleasant experience.…

The traditional view of art has changed over time just as most things have. Naturally, the act of perception has differed opinions on what society considers as art. Dance, paintings, photography, drawings, music, literature, and sculpting, are what comes to mind when contemplating the aspects of art. The limitation to defining a word so opinionated leaves out room for self-expression. It was truly a challenge being there, and I loved every minute of it!…
