Teach a nation, you can teach the world. Everyone deserves the opportunity and right to read. As Miss Downriver Outstanding Teen, I plan to accentuate the value of literacy through my non-profit tutoring organization G.R.O.W., an acronym for Generate Real Opportunities and Wonder. "The more you know, the more you grow!" is the focus and motto of the G.R.O.W Tutoring Program. G.R.O.W. is a peer to peer tutoring organization established to help enforce the importance of literacy into kindergarten, first, second, third, fourth, and fifth grade young minds. G.R.O.W. offers year round programs including a Homework Club and the G.R.O.W. Tutoring Summer Program. G.R.O.W. is continuing to grow in hopes to spread to inner city schools across the state of Michigan and provide more classrooms with books and school supplies. Currently, G.R.OW. is not only beginning to write a proposal to be implemented in another school, but is also developing an app, My G.R.O.W.ing Garden, to reach out and inspire students beyond Michigan
