Middle School to High School Teenagers have a hard time transitioning from middle school to high school for struggle like adapting to change, procrastination, poor study habits, sleep habit, and influences that come with being a high schooler. Teenagers fight change because they fear of failure. The feeling of losing control often comes with change(Kanter). Transitioning from middle school to high school is a huge change. High schoolers have more freedom, and teachers stop holding the students hands threw everything. This leaves students responsible for their own grade and homework, which some students struggle with. Also, according to Kanter, people try to avoid change. She also states being forced to change can be uncomfortable to some and make them confused or distracted. Often students who cannot handle change have a harder time adapting to the high school style and need paras to guide them threw it. The middle school to high school transition is hard because as Kanter states it is more work to change, and teenagers are lazy. Teenagers do not want to put more effort in than they absolutely have to into anything. They would rather get things done and over with than put effort and time to make it …show more content…
According to Dunlosky, a good study habit is self-testing. Most teenagers do not test themselves before a test because they either do not have enough time, or they just do not want to do it out of laziness. Teenagers would rather waste their time with doing something they find enjoyable than doing something most teenagers dread, testing. Also, Dunlosky states another good study habit is not studying all at once. Meaning taking breaks in between studying and not cramming everything at once. Teenagers do not want to spread studying out, they want to get it done and over with so they can move on to something they like to do. Procrastination becomes teenager 's studying habit making the transition
