Competitive Life Transitions

Transition starts at the time of birth. When I grew up as a child physically I grew rapidly but self-awareness developed parallel to physical growth as well as interacting with others and the surrounding. As a child, I was protected by my family, especially by my mother because my father died when I was only 4 years old. When I entered into a school that was a different world from home. I made many friends saw up and down in friendship. I tried to be a good student and daughter as well. During childhood till teen, I tried to make my mother and my teachers happy and I tried my best to see a smile on my mother face. As I grew older I developed my own individual personality. This world has become very competitive. To be at a part with your peers, you have to have the spirit of competition. This is healthy for your mind and sense of achievement. I remembered I was very scared to start IV, most of my co-workers do easily. I was so frustrated, but I didn’t give up I tried and tried and then it clicked me that from which angle I have to reach the vein. Now I am very confident. These transitions can help you to groom your career and skills. Positive attitude in a competitive world can help you to achieve your goals. This positive energy is helping me to keep away from stagnation and making the transition easy from LPN to RN. The skills that I learned into my LPN are applicable in my practical or professional life. As an LPN student when we were learning about tracheostomy suction, our instructor told us how important is the timing when u suctioned the tracheostomy. When I started work, I had a young patient in pre-Op her mother was doing her trach suction and I started counting the seconds when she passed 11 seconds I stopped her and asked her how many seconds you have to do suction at once. She said, “until his throat is clear.” Then I printed a trach care procedure for her and talk to her in detail. When you helped someone you feel very productive and positive towards your job. I tried to maintain a balance between both roles. My children and their needs are important to me so, are my patients. I tried not to bring my home problems at work and vice versa. I tried to maintain and plan ahead. Such as sometimes I have to reach work 6 am in the morning so, I dropped my son into the daycare so he will not miss the school and I will be on time at work. Every person has the different personality so as my co-workers. If something bothers me or disturbed me I have good relation with my colleagues so, I sit with them and describe my feeling, might be some miss understanding or some other issues which I am not aware of can cause conflicts between/among us. Peace of mind can make you more productive and attentive towards your job. I tried to resolve my problems from beginning. I learned during LPN never tried to ignore your problems or conflicts as they can compound to bigger conflicts. To peruse further education I have to sacrifice my job from full time to PRN so, I can keep my skills fresh and give my proper time to my study. I don’t want to step into two rides which might regret later. The decision of becoming a PRN, LPN rather than full-time LPN can help me to achieve my goals smoothly. English is my second language and I have to get good the score in TEASE test so, I dropped one of my transition course. I am little sad, but I know transitional courses
