The Importance Of Ticket To Ride

Improved Essays
The children who participate would come from families with financial instability and would not be able to take part in other extracurricular activities. The families would have to apply or be recommended by someone in order to participate to ensure that the project is not being taken advantage of. The children would be affected by having an activity to participate in during the week.
The steps necessary to make Ticket to Ride actually happen would have to start by getting support from those I would ask help from. Once I got enough volunteers to kick start my project I would need to file any necessary paperwork needed to run a non for profit. I would also have to a have a reliability and release form written by a legal office so if any injury would occur I could not be held reliable for the injury and or the cost.

I believe that the schools and local businesses would allow me to advertise the most. I would also ask the local radio station to advertise during their broadcasts. I would also submit a paper article about Ticket to Ride and then put a minimum of four newspaper advertisements in local papers. Once the idea gained more interest I would not be opposed to furthering the advertisement to nearby communities to see if there would be interest to bring in outside people as

1.1 Positive Parental Involvement Recently, speculation of the role and expectations associated with being a good sports parent have been identified with a clear pattern of positive and negative themes emerging. Parents set the course of a young persons life, primarily because they provide ample opportunities and sources of information- exerting significant influence (Coakley, 1992, cited in Cahill and Pearl, 1993). Although all parents display a broad spectrum of involvement within sports, studies have supported the notion that positive parental involvement outwardly relates to positive predictors of enjoyment, participation and continued membership. However, what appears to be of great significance is that this may not be directly related…

I have been in the car dozens of times with my grandmother, Nanny Jo, as she likes to be called, and every time she drives, I get this feeling that she shouldn 't be driving. I don 't know what makes me feel that way, maybe it 's the fact that she is 78 years old and can barely see over the steering wheel or that she feels the majority rules of the road do not apply to her. I personally think it is because in 78 years of driving she has never been in a major accident and she feels impervious to accidents. As Nanny Jo has gotten older, my mom and aunt have discussed whether she should be driving. Each time they have come to the same conclusion that although it is a little dangerous for her to drive, the freedom she has to go to the park or visit…

According to Robert Putnam, social capital “refers to features of social organization such as networks, norms, and social trust that facilitate coordination and cooperation for mutual benefit” (65-78). The amount of social capital is not at the same level as it was in the past. This is due to a change in the amount of civic engagement throughout communities. In most areas and organizations today, either a higher degree or a lower degree of civic engagement is observed. In my community, a lower amount of civic engagement is evident in children’s involvement in youth-related activities and adult involvement in youth-related activities when compared to the amount of civic engagement present in these two areas when I was nine or ten years old.…

Have you heard of a bike-share program? A Bike Share program is an innovative transportation process(a way to get around in a better or healthier way.)in which somebody can use a bike to travel small distances and drop off the bike at the station in that service area. My first reason is that I disagree with of our principal because you have responsibilities you have to take care of. My examples of it are reviewing for quizzes/tests, if you are taking care of your younger siblings, and doing homework as well. Another detriment I disagree with our principal because it is everyone's decision of they decide to do it or not. My final reason is tat I disagreed with our principal because the problem is transportation, an even if we are with our mandatory extracurricular, but we won't be able to get home as well.…

Abstract One of the questions that has been asked countless times is why most are if not all extracurricular activities at our middle and high schools are being taken away. After school programs have been very strategic in helping young people find their talent, career choices and so much more (Durlak, 2007). Football, basketball, band and dance are just a few of the activities that kids have to choose from when it comes to participating in their school activities. According to the San Diego Police department and also a few other Police departments, they have reported that the number of kids that participate in extracurricular activities are less likely to commit a crime (Afterschool Alliance, 2007).…
