The Church is holy because she is the Body of Christ. Through the sacraments and sainthood the church can supplement its holiness by controlling their connection with God and his divinity. We can experience the holiness of the church by participating in the Eucharist when we attend mass. The church continues to spread its holiness when it canonizes holy people and then those people continue on with the process. Many important people in history have helped to spread the Church’s holiness, for example, Saint Patrick. Saint Patrick is well known as the saint who developed and spread Christianity in Ireland (Wikipedia). He perfectly displays the qualities of someone who knows and understands the holiness of the church. By definition, Apostolic means “having been sent”, which means that Christ has sent the church into the world. The Church is built upon the continued tradition that the Apostles and the followers of Christ have carried. The previous statement is displayed even today with Pope Francis connecting his teachings with every prior Pope, dating back to St. Peter. The Apostolic nature of the Church helps her faithful identity and mission to stay rooted in Christ. The Church is built on the foundation that the Apostles set up for everyone else to build upon. The Catholic Church will forever remain Apostolic because of the gifts of infallibility and indefectibility that Christ has passed
