The Importance Of The Somatic Nervous System

On a typical daily basis, I would wake up with the vibration from my smartphone alarm or the vibration from my Facebook messenger application notification. It was said that the neurons of the Somatic Nervous System carry information of the vibration from the external environment to the nervous system. By this, the information travels from the Central Nervous System to the effectors which can act on the external environment like striated muscles. In this case, the sensation of the vibration would then send neurons to my brain informing me that I should wake up.

Putting that aside, the first thing I typically do when I wake up is taking a shower. After I finish showering, I would brush my teeth and prepare myself for school. Even on days when I don’t have class/classes, it 's like a muscle memory or a force of habit even when days I might not need I must prepare myself for work. At a typical weekly basis, I work about 30 to 35 hours a week, yet somehow managing a full-time student status. It isn 't something any typical student can do, unless building tolerance and patterns of how to deal with certain scenarios. Before leaving the door, I have the habit of looking up the CTA tracker for the train arrival time. Once I get home, I would wait for my parents and siblings to come back home for dinner. If not able to wait, I would search the refrigerator for a small portion of food. From experience, it would be wise to eat small in order to save stomach for the bigger meal. In addition, if both my parents and my siblings haven’t return, I would take a quick nap which is usually about an hour or two.
