Sometimes the kids played games, such as tag or catching a ball. Being a school was hard, school started at age five and lasted 12 or more years. Classes sometimes lasted from dawn till dusk. The teachers were also very strict; they beat their students when they didn’t listen and pay attention.
The importance of the social pyramid was so everybody could understand and do their part, so their country could prosper, and not collapse like Rome’s. The social pyramid was as follow: pharaoh, officials, priests, scribes, artisans, and lastly, peasants and farmers. It was important that everybody did their job, so they uphold their empire. The peasants and farmers were mainly the ones who supported the whole structure, as there were more of them and they worked harder.
The pharaoh was the supreme ruler, everyone obeyed him with the utmost respect. The next level down were the officials, who assisted the pharaoh. They were usually related to him/her. Treasurer, the general of armies, and vizier are the most important positions that an official can obtain. A vizier’s job is to carry out the pharaoh’s orders and appoint new officials.
