A government funded religion becomes more caught up with money and power and forever loses its sincerity. I feel that the separation of church and state is something that highly beneficial for all beings. It is my understanding that without the 1st amendment America could be much like the country of Iran; where one religion could mature to be in control of the whole nation and restrict its society so that any supporters of other religions would be gravely prosecuted. The acceptance of the separation of church and state in America gives me confidence that one day it is possible for other countries to adapt to freedom of religion. I am pleased to have been born in a country where the people are free to support and believe the religion of their choosing. I think that too many American citizens take for granted the privilege that it is to be able to worship what we feel righteous and praise how we feel commendable. (PowerPoint,
