Abortion: A Woman Should Have The Right To Life

Improved Essays
This is an important point for it goes with the fact that even though a fetus has the right to life, it does not necessarily give it the right to use the mother’s body. Especially when the mother is not ready for the pregnancy or not ready to be a mother for any reason. It also shows that it is not wrong for a woman to get an abortion because she has the right to control what goes into or comes out of her body. If a woman has an unwanted pregnancy, she has the right to want the fetus out of her, and to do something about it. That fetus has no more of a right to use the woman’s body to gain life than the woman’s right to get rid of the unwanted fetus. Even if there is a fault in the type of birth control this woman is using, there is no …show more content…
If a woman is raped and it results in pregnancy, it is okay for her to get an abortion. Some people may say that just because the woman was raped, doesn’t mean that the fetus now doesn’t deserve a chance at life. But if a woman is not ready to get pregnant, and is not ready to have a child, then abortion is an option. Yes, there is adoption, but one can make a case for the pregnancy itself being as difficult for the victim as having the child. A woman needs to be ready to go through pregnancy. It is not an easy process and it is not always the fact that they don’t want a baby that prevents a woman from getting pregnant. Sometimes a woman does not want to go through the pregnancy yet because she does not feel ready. If she is not ready and it is not her fault, she shouldn’t be forced to go through the pregnancy. Someone has attacked this woman and caused her to have a fetus grow inside of her. She did not want this, she did not ask for this, but it happened. There is no reason why someone should say she is wrong for wanting to rid herself of this fetus that is taking energy and nutrients from her and making it uncomfortable for this woman to …show more content…
Let’s say the mother isn’t trying to get pregnant, but she ends up accidentally messing up her birth control. She doesn’t mean to get pregnant, she won’t be able to survive the pregnancy, and therefore, the fetus has very little chance of survival. This makes it absolutely okay for the mother to get an abortion. Some people may argue that the fetus still has a chance at being born, so getting an abortion doesn’t seem like the only option. They think that if there is a chance of survival for the fetus, there should be measures taken to ensure a life for the fetus. But that isn’t always the right thing to do. What if, in this case, the mother dies before the child is born? Then the chance of survival for the fetus is very small. There is no reason to let the mother die because of a small probability that the fetus may survive. Even if the mother does not die before the child is born, she may die while giving birth, which does not guarantee life for the unborn fetus. Not only that, but this fetus’s small chance at life is now depriving the mother of her own life. It is clear that a living person’s life is more important than the chance of survival for an unborn fetus. Therefore, the decision between a small chance of giving someone life versus taking away a life that has already been established, and which others depend on, doesn’t sound so

That is way adoption is in this world. If the mother does not want the baby, then make sure to give the baby to someone that will take care it and that will love it. Now, if the mother’s life is at stake, then I somewhat understand why the mother has to have an abortion, but I still do not agree with it. I do not know why, but I just do not agree. I just think that the child should at least be given a chance at life and the mother never knows.…

Being pro-choice does not mean you support murder. It’s supporting the mother and father’s choice of wanting a better life for the unborn child. It’s us understanding if a young girl won’t be able to raise a child because she was raped. It’s not meaning we want a family or woman to go through that loss, it’s that they support their decision with understandable reasons. Pro-choice isn’t supporting promiscuous women frequently getting abortions because they don’t practice safe sex.…

Mothers who abort their children do not show much love for their child. It is understandable to see why a mother would abort her child if her life is at risk, but this is at the expense of a baby, who has no part in the decision. Abortion disrespects the safety of a child, which ultimately end in death. Not only is abortion unsafe for a child, but abortion can cause health problems in a woman later on. But the most important life in this situation is the living human being and their experiences and goals and that should be protected at all costs. Finally, one may say that the woman should have the child and give it up for adoption to avoid having an abortion and to still give the child a chance at having a good life. This is also not a good point because many children do not have happy and fulfilling lives while going through the foster care system and there are already so many children that do not have parents, it would be morally wrong to force the child into that condition as well. In conclusion, Don Marquis’ position outlined in his essay “Why Abortion is Immoral” is not a good argument because it ignores the life of the woman and disregards the potential results of the living conditions of the child if he or she would be born into a family with…
