You cannot have security without giving up some of your liberties. the Bill Of Rights outlines the american people’s rights. the Patriot Act was passed to keep us safe from terrorist following the events of 9/11. Although no law is to impede on our rights the patriot act hinders some of our rights. it obstructs our fifth and fourth right which should not be allowed. the fifth amendment states that “No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a grand jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the militia, when in actual service in time of war or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offense to be twice put in jeopardy of life
