I consider my teacher to be an expert because he has been teaching in the LEAD Program way longer than I have been a member of the LEAD organization. He has been teaching in the program for approximately 14 years, and has a broader view on the program due to all of his experience. He also knows more about the organization curriculum from the grading to the reasoning of why we have certain requirements as well. Therefore, he can answer the complex questions that I do not fully understand; such as: why the LEAD program is a two-year program instead of a two-year program. In the interview he explained to me, that he felt like the communication in the LEAD organization is neither good nor bad. This is because sometimes for example the information through an email that is sent is not sufficient to students questions which leads to students still being confused with what exactly is going on and this leads to miscommunication. On the LEAD website, Weston says “… the program’s highest retention rate to date, with a 96.5 percent of students continuing at UCF this academic year… UCF’s overall retention rate between year one and year two came in at 88% this year.” This shows that the program helps students academically with staying focused and staying in college to benefit towards their career of their dreams. This is due to fact that the LEAD Program not only provides a place for students to study in the LEAD Lounge.
