Because of this rapid erosion, about 30 villages have been sank into the sea since the Roman times. This is due to the fact that the Holderness Coast is made of Cretaceous Chelk, and is covered by bolder cray that deposited from the last gracial retreat about 10000 years ago. There is a caraban park near th beach, and it is the biggest source of money to the village. And the biggest issue is that the local government decided not to support sea defences because of high cost, the size of village and potential effect further down the coast. Groynes used to protect the coastline of this village, but now it is too old and abondoned. Therefore, instead of the local government, the Environment Agency formed by the local residents has done the protections such as building flood banks. The flood bank is built by rocks, and it pushed the sea water into the Humber Estuary. It is successfully working at this moment, however, this is expected to last for only 20~30 years that the problems are not solved completely. Also, to built the flood bank, many caravans buses , builings, land and capitals were lost. The floodbank pushes water to the Humber Estuary that other area will be negatively affected later

Even though English settlers traveled across the Atlantic to the Chesapeake Bay area, the West Indies, and the area that became New England all around the same time, they formed very different kinds of society. This makes it obvious that the determining factor in the way colonial societies grow is dependent on more than just the lifestyle its settlers had in their homeland. In addition to the reasons for settlement in each area, one might also explore the obstacle settlers faced in colonization, and the practices that took root as they lived in these areas. One of the most influential factors in how a colonial society grew is the reasons for which the colony is founded. For the colonies in the Chesapeake Bay and the West Indies, profit was the major reason for their founding.…

The top three colleges I chose are Hinds Community College, Mississippi State University, and Alcorn State University . Hinds is my first choice because I visited Hinds’ Nursing Allied Health Center on one of my various CDC field trips and I was amazed. I was shown how to be prepared for CPR, how to read the blood pressure machine, and just learn about all the programs they have to offer. I actually did plenty of .research on nursing and I think Hinds is just the place for me .…

I have had a lifelong passion for environmental issues that arose from a childhood spent amongst mountains, canyons, islands, and rivers. The Anacostia River near my home is dubbed “The Forgotten River,” for it has been transformed by neglect. It was integral to my childhood—my family canoed on the river, my crew team practiced on it, and my Eagle Scout project involved rehabilitating one of its wetlands. The river showed me that environmental issues are complex, involving science, social justice, politics, economics, and history. From a young age, I was stunned by my city’s apathy and saw a change that needed to occur.…

Back in the 1800 's the U.S wanted to do a lot with only a little bit of power, and they eventually did do a lot over time. But one thing they wanted to do was expand and just to keep expanding to try and get as much land, money, and friends as possible to become big and strong like of other countries. The only difference was that the United States were a brand new country so they weren 't very big nor powerful, so they took many risks during the time they were getting larger. So considering all of this, the United States back in the 1800 's were too greedy during their Westward Movement for threatening, motivating and seizing things that weren 't theirs.…
