To many, college is a time of developing into a new person and creating memories that are everlasting. For some students, particularly freshmen who are transforming from being the top dogs in high school to the freshies on a college campus, college is a place where creating cliques and identities are important. On the other hand, for some students like myself, forming an identity is easy. It has been said that students enjoy leaving home, meeting new people, and experiencing life on their own without their parents. Some may disagree and some will agree, that college is meant to create communities in which students can express themselves and feel welcomed. While every other regular college student is at home getting ready to come back to school, the football team is already on campus, bonding, and spending countless hours together as a group for fourteen entire days. These days include sleeping, eating, practicing, and serving the community as a whole. These events are designed to build team cohesion and help strengthen the football community. At The University of Findlay, there are different communities and cultures within each sport team, but none of them compare to the football family. The football community consists of players varying from freshmen to seniors, coaches, equipment staff, trainers, and the best GLIAC fans. The UF Football community is composed of all the people who come together every Saturday to accomplish one common goal; which is always declaring victory over the opponent.
