The first noticeable thing is that desk are assigned to students. The reason behind this strategy is to keep children focused on their assignments being presented and not on talking with friends. Teacher’s often have classmates move their seats every couple of months to ensure that students are not getting too comfortable with each other. Students are not allowed to go to the bathroom during class time and if they are continually having to go to the bathroom during class every day they are punished by taking away one of their recesses. Therefore, the children get it in their head very quickly to use the restroom before recess is over. Lunch is forty-five minutes long and children have to stand in line for their lunch, sit down to eat, restroom and recess within this allotted time frame. Schools in certain areas allow the students to leave campus during lunchtime, while schools that are considered a problematic school are not allowed this privilege. As well as dividing children lunch times up according to age groups. Children are being forced to wear uniforms to some schools and is being recommended at other schools, but not enforced as of yet. Security officers are being placed in schools and on school grounds for extra security measures in case something happens during school hours. Metal detectors are also being added for protection against deviant behaviors like guns, knives, other weapons and drugs that can be used to harm someone. School personnel keep track of school attendance, tardiness and absentees. Notifying parents of children attendance discrepancies, and if the problem persists then the schools are obligated to contact the truancy department. The truancy department is obligated to warn parents about the consequences that will follow if the situation is not corrected. The last resort is to file a court hearing that will decide if the parents will be held responsible for their
