In terms of motivation, I can ask the guardians the following question: What made you to be a guardian in the first place? Why do you choose this particular profession? Do you enjoy working with UME? To what extent are you happy with your profession? What are the key values that drove you to do the job you do? In my opinion, answering these questions are crucial because the minute I have the answers for these questions, the minute I will be able to understand the world of the guardians fully. The aforementioned questions are crucial for a number of reasons: the first is the motivations of the guardians are essential because it sheds more light on why do guardians do what they do. The second is locate the core values of the guardians and the mentors you need have a poll of values that are drawn from various guardians and mentors who are purposively sampled. Finally, as I will elaborate further the various identified values can be compared and measured to validate the qualitative data that I am aiming to acquire using interviews and focus group discussion. All in all, motivation of the guardians is a crucial entry-point to understand them. And, also to understand their interaction with UME.
