Healthcare professionals deliver care in a wide range of expertise and specialisms. Careers in healthcare requires many people in different occupations to work together effectively to deliver safe and reliable care. The overall goal of these activities is to promote teamwork in the healthcare to provide high quality of care to patients and to improve the motivation, communication, and morale of healthcare professional. There are three main types of team building activities: communication, problem solving, and trust building. These activities will work on team building skills that can improve healthcare professional performance and productivity in the healthcare setting. Often, members of the healthcare teams are not aware of the importance of other members that are involved in the treatment and care of patients. This can create issues, of mistrust in other healthcare providers, for example, register nurses not understand the roles of X-Ray technician. Furthermore, this can cause barriers in communication. Therefore, I wanted to provide activities that provide important skills when involve in working with teams, especially in healthcare.
• This is a good team building exercise because the activities gives the employees the opportunity to get to know each other, as well as share more about themselves outside of the healthcare facility. Organizing team activities give hospital professionals the chance to learn more about what it is like to work with each other. This is especially important as healthcare workers are dealing with life and death situation on a daily basis and they must be conformable and confident in each other. Even if the team building activities are mandated by top management, for the participation of employee to attend such work shop that are involving these activities; there is no guarantee that employee will take the seriousness of the exercises. Therefore, employee personal ethics are not a guarantee to change based on the mandated to attend. It is important to have an ethical culture of a healthcare facility that is reflective of these teamwork activities of good communication, having trust in their fellow co-workers to deliver in their work, and having the ability to solve problems in a respectful and positive model for the team.
