Educators should adapt their teaching styles to the economic environment, to which school they are teaching in location. To adapt your teaching style effectively as a teacher you must gain a proper understanding of the towns culture. Becoming a part of the town’s culture is one way to gain the knowledge, on how to effectively make accommodation inside the classroom for students. One way I will do this is if the town I am teaching in is a sport town, I will incorporate sports into my classroom. I will use sport terminology when scaffolding in the classroom to help students relate and have a better understanding of the material. After reading “Other People Children” this educated me and made me more aware that not only do different ethnicity have a stronger background in different subject, but also learn better with different teaching styles. In the article Identification of Gifted African American, it brings to readers attention that African American in the education system do not fully grasp and understand the importance of education. When focusing on African Americans in my class I will focus more on the importance of why education is important and how to apply it to life. When working on my professional interaction whit different genre of people I will get to know their backgrounds, and interest. Getting to know their interest will give me an advantage when trying to communicate with them. When being able to communicate with parents on a professional level, a teacher can communicate well enough to understand what the parents think is important to add into the curriculum. Being able to understand a community’s diversity will help a teacher with professional interactions, having the abilities to have these professional interactions with parents will give teachers an advantage when trying to add diversity to the curriculum. When looking at research on applying diversity in a classroom, it is critical for students learning. A classroom without any diversity isn’t adequate for students learning, a classroom shouldn’t only be varied in students ethnicities, but also in learning styles. Having different learning styles will give students the best chance to learn. When teaching students different learning style it improve upon students problem solving skills. When addressing diversity from a professional and educational standpoint I plan on using it to its fullest
