The article titled “Teaching Creatively and Teaching for Creativity” is about the importance of creative teaching and the effects it has on music education. A teacher who uses creativity is able to inspire, motivate, and develop students who can function in the multiple roles of musical at various levels. However, having a creative professor does not guarantee that students will be influenced to be creative themselves. Teaching with creativity in mind makes us consider student’s differences rather than teaching them to be the same. Creativity keeps us interested in our teaching and keeps the attention of our students. As innovative teachers, we look for new ways to achieve the same goals, but also prepare for unexpected goals to unfold. Creativity …show more content…
It gives tips and suggestions on how to teach creatively and how to encourage students to be creative. This article says that creativity is the overlapping of expertise, motivation, and creative thinking skills. The central theme of “Infusing Creativity and Technology in 21st Century Education” is creativity through technology and it is much longer and more detailed than the first article. It shows how technology helps us learn content in creative ways. This article defines creativity as the ability to create ideas or works that are “novel (new), high in quality (value, usefulness), and task appropriate (context, wholeness). “Infusing Creativity and Technology in 21st Century Education” does a better job of describing the topic because it applies to all “domains” of creativity, rather than music alone, and goes into great detail about what creativity is and where it is …show more content…
I like this article better because the reading was very easy to understand; the article is simple yet interesting and beneficial. It does a good job of getting to the point of creativity; this article is straightforward yet profound. “Infusing Creativity and Technology in 21st Century Education” is much longer and more complicated than the other article. It is more informative compared to the other article because it thoroughly defines creativity and describes the interactions within creativity. It introduces the TPACK framework and elaborates on its function and purpose. Although I am familiar with technology, I don’t connect to it as well as I do to music.
