In fact, the glimpse of your furry friend around the office is not only cute, but also beneficial for your health. By reducing stress-related ailments like heart disease and diabetes, pets can actually raise your life expectancy.

Very few people know that some countries even have an annual event called ‘Take Your Dog to Work Day’. The day which was introduced in the United Kingdom in 1996, made its way to the United States on June 24, 1999. An excerpt from its blog reads, “Life at Chumbak is busy, sometimes hectic, and we keep trying to find new outlets for inspiration, ways to unwind, or triggers for creativity that’ll keep us pumped through the week. Whether it’s a tough deadline, a new launch we’re spending late nights for, or just a regular day, it’s often punctuated by the pitter-patter of paws, the happy laughs when Hugo decides to nap at someone’s feet or the hilarity at how Shiny keeps trying to jump out of its

As you encounter challenges in your daily work routine, it might be difficult to keep your anxiety level in check. While it’s true that work induces stress, research shows that pets can be of great help. Proven to reduce stress and lower blood pressure, these four-legged furry friends serve as living stress balls.

Studies show that playing with an animal or simply cuddling them can increase the levels of the stress-reducing hormone oxytocin and decrease the production of cortisol (stress hormone). The comforting presence of a dog or cat is enough to relieve your anxiety within any office environment.

Improves Morale: Offices that allow employees to bring their furry friends tend to have a friendly atmosphere and open working environment. We all need refreshment, especially after a long meeting with a difficult client. A perky pup or a cute kitten provides the perfect remedy whenever your morale needs a lift.

The mere presence of these adorable animals makes coming to work each day easier, enjoyable and enthralling. And when you are comfortable at the office, you tend to work for longer
