Differences in spectral, spatial, radioactive and temporal characteristics could provide various sources of imagery. A vegetation classification developed from the characteristics is important for classifying and mapping vegetation cover. Geographically, Takalar Regency is located at latitude of -5.4162 and longitude of 119.4876. It was the west part from city Makassar in South Sulawesi, Indonesia. It was also close to a boundary of Jeneponto regency. In this study area, it was near with five districts in takalar regency such as Bontomanai, Bontoparang, Panyangkalang, Tuju and Bulujaya. Figure 1.1 shows a location of Takalar regency which is located in the south part of Sulawesi Indonesia. Based on Figure 1.2, the study area of geology locates within the latitude of 5 30’ 20’’ to 5 32’ 30’’ N and longitude of 119 28’ 30’’ to 119 32’ 00’’ E which covers of 25 km_2. Meanwhile, Figure 1.3 was showing a study area of remote sensing specification locates within latitude of 5 27’ 05’’ to 5 32’ 40’’ N and longitude of 119 24’ 00’’ to 119 32’ 00’’ E, covers of 261 km_2. Takalar regency has rapidly developed in term of land use, infrastructure and accessibility. Regardless, the geological map of this area is not updated to describe the recent condition. Due to the agriculture development in the study area, the vegetation extremely changes. The rate of vegetation change at the south-central Sulawesi in the year 2003 until 2007 is having low percentage grow from 9.21% - 47.39% regarding the damaged state, improper planting season cropping, fewer maintenance cattle grazing and implementation of many activities (Pitopang, 2012).
