Suspect in On-Air Murder of Journalist and Cameraman Kills Himself!
Today was a grim day. Journalist Alison Parker and cameraman Adam Ward, from station WDBJ, were fatally shot this Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at 6:45 am, in Smith Mountain Lake, Virginia. The man in question was a former co-worker named Vester Lee Flanagan also known by his on-air name, Bryce Williams. There may have been a possible motive behind this chilling murder as he posted that “Alison made racist comments to me” and, “Adam went to human resources on me after working with me one time!” Vester snuck up behind the cameraman, while recording the incident, and shot Alison Parker dead, and then shot and killed cameraman Adam Ward. There have, unfortunately, been a number of schools and other places that have been assaulted by gunmen and suffered many casualties. Some lives have been saved, due to the hard work and dedication of teachers, hospital workers, and police officers but others were not so lucky. Measures must be taken to prevent things like this from happening so more innocent lives will not be lost. I think this article was trying to say that, there are dangerous people out there who will kill for no reason. We need to be careful and responsible for what we choose to do with our guns and other weapons. There are political issues with gun rights, but I think that checking any and all background history, permits, license, and other “obstacles” to getting a gun are just some of the ways of preventing things like this from happening. As you can see, this does not always work, but at least it is making it harder for the wrong people to get a gun. The author focused on all the right things in this article. He told all of the who’s, what’s, when’s, where’s, why’s, and how’s of this story, giving us as much detail as
