At Louisiana State University or any college, student success is very important to the students, the teachers, the counselors, the administrators. There are a lot of resources and people to talk to on campus to help students be successful. Louisiana State University has this resource called the Center for Academic Success. The definition of student success is very broad. Student success is linked to the goals the student sets, the student values, their motivation, what motivates them, how they manage time, their creative thinking, their critical thinking, their information literacy skills, how they manage stress, and how stress affects their health. What is goal setting? Another word for goal setting is objective setting. Goal setting is the way toward choosing what you need to finish and arrange to accomplish the outcome you want. In a college setting, having a goal is very helpful. When students set goals for themselves is very helpful. Goal setting or objective setting let students who haven't picked a college pick where they need to go in school and what they need to accomplish. By understanding what they need to accomplish, they realize what they need to focus on and move forward. Goal setting helps give students a preview of the future. Goal settings help students to improve their inspiration to accomplish whatever they want in the future. This skill is what I think most students struggle with in college. time management allows students to utilize time to plan for classes, leave time to study, and memorize data for exams.
