Strength training has a huge impact on ones body. It tears down muscle fibers, puts pressure on joints and tendons, which can cause stress to the body. For young women who begin strength training and are not instructed properly have major downfalls. The first is the adverse effect it has on the skeletal system and estrogen production (Falk, 2015). When adolescents begin the strength training process patience is not always their strength. They want to lift more and more weight. They want the gains and the muscle mass to pack on. However, by lifting large amount of weights too quickly can cause major skeletal damage and life long problems. This type of training can cause trauma to the skeletal muscles, which then leads to back pain (Duhig, 2014).
