Now, this paper will not make you do it perfectly, but it will help you get a start on it and with lots of practice and patience you will one day get the hang of it. There are three steps to stealing a base. I’ll start with the first one: the rocker step. The rocker step starts by standing on the base that you’re going to steal from. Most of the information in here apply to baseball as well, but there are still some important things to learn here. The game will usually go for 9 innings which are divided in two parts. Each team consists of nine players. Teams in the outfield consist of a pitcher, a catcher, three members at each base, a player in-between second and third base called short stop, and then the remaining three team mates are in the outfield beyond the bases. The other team then takes turns using an aluminum bat (as is tradition) to hit the ball which is thrown by the pitcher of the opposing team.…

“Although many people assume that softball was derived from baseball, the sport’s first game actually came about because of a football game” (History 1). Softball was invented on Thanksgiving day in 1887 in Chicago, Illinois by a group of Yale and Harvard alumni. They were all just sitting around waiting for the outcome of the Yale vs. Harvard football game, when one of the alumni threw a boxer's glove at a harvard supporter. The supporter swung at the glove and everyone was interested by the act of the stick hitting the glove. George Hancock, a reporter for the Chicago Board of Trade, yelled out, “Play Ball”, and the first softball game began.…

Although when it comes to stealing bases in baseball the runner is allowed to steal whenever the ball is live (which is most of the time). In softball you are only allowed to steal once the pitcher releases the ball out of their hand, but the runner is not allowed to leave the base if the pitcher has the ball in the pitching circle. Another major difference between baseball and softball is the how the ball is thrown to the batter. In softball the ball is pitched underhanded and can be fast as it is in fast-pitch softball or slow like in slow-pitch softball. In baseball the ball is usually pitched overhanded in really fast…
