I started a petition to have more soccer balls at recess, in the end, I got over 100 students to sign it.

So, one day I came home from school and researched how to start a school petition. The more I researched, the more I realized that starting a school petition wasn't as arduous of a task

The community has participated in making the plan, but few students appeared at the meetings regarding it. But, two sophomore students, Sheasha Patel and Abigail Banchevski, did suggest some ideas. Patel recommended, “More room for the marching band for marching band practices. I think they should also improve the heater system in the school because it’s so cold in my classes.” She added the idea that the locker rooms should be based off of grade rather than having only a freshman locker room and the rest of the grades held up in another.…

Create Change Esther Dyson once said, “Change Means That What Was Before Wasn’t Perfect People Want Things To Be Better”. Even if one person creates changes in his or her society at a global, national, or community level in a positive way, will make this world a better place. Each individual can create changes in his or her society, unless he/she feels that it is important to society, that an action must be needed and the action that they going to propose in order for changes to happen. The changes that I want it to happen are; to have free schooling for students from kindergarten to twelve grade all over the world, along with women’s right to an education, offer free health care and helping homeless…

RATIONALE Schooling or education exposed through experience and exposure. Whether or not it is freedom or oppression is highly debatable and depends on several factors. If you were not African-American, Native American, poor, and a male, then schooling was a source of freedom. If you were Anglo-American and wealthy, then you were entitled to the best that education offered. If you receive the best education, then that resulted in money, power and privilege.…

You can’t just blindly run into world wanting to do something; you need a plan, determination, and confidence to know that you can make a difference.” I thought about what he said and realized he had a point. It's always funny to see how their distinct personalities intertwine with one-another to make it a friendly atmosphere.…

If we were to lose physical space, people would surrender their desire to obtain public good.…

The charter school movement has been the most prominent and controversial education reform in the United States in the last twenty years. Similarly, rapidly shifting demographics in the United States have been the source of much research and attention. The convergence of these two trends is under-represented in scholarly literature. Given the dramatic growth in charter schools, authorizers and diverse populations in the past two decades, more research is needed to understand what conditions are associated with the most effective authorizer practices and how authorizers differentiate their practices for at-risk populations. There is also need to update the authorizing literature in general and, particularly, to examine multicultural authorizing…

After the first few quiet weeks in the Student Government Association, I decided to write my balcony assignment for the first week of student group appeals. Although I am a part of the Student Government, I am only involved in legislative meetings for my weekly committee update so taking a back seat and really observing interactions isn’t new for me. Often times however I just phase out the dialogue to get other work done. For this meeting I really wanted to tune in and see how a long meeting with many guests in attendance would work. I’ll start with the leadership.…
