One of my favorite activities in this class so far is the current events assignments. I love how we get to research a recent article that shows historical significance, summarize the article, give our opinions/thoughts on the subject, and share it with our classmates. Why?” I love that we had to compare the Gilded Age to youth or college sports we played in our life and how it affected our life. I don’t think I could handle living in the Gilded age. I am not the type of girl that wears dresses all the time, so I would be miserable in a dress 24/7. How could they move when they played tennis? One of my goals is to look for old newspapers from the past that shows coverage of sports. I would be would excited if I ever got to look at an old newspaper or book in the past, such as the books they mentioned in our textbook book (“The Law of Athletics”).
