Can you hear that? Listen real close……Hear it?

Peace and serenity across Islanders social media. Everyone might as well be sitting around a campfire, roasting marshmallows and singing Kumbaya.

Well, for one night at least.

The Islanders eased tensions among the Barclays Center faithful and within their own locker room with last night’s 4-2 win over the sinking Vancouver Canucks in Brooklyn. To add to the good vibes was Jason Chimera and Andrew Ladd finally getting off the snide and scoring their first goals of the 2016-17 campaign, a campaign that last week looked to match the drama and unrest of the presidential one unfolding before a divided and confused nation that hopefully comes to an end today.

A burden of consistency and complacency, not really being able to bond with your teammates and get to know them on a more personal level, getting too comfortable. With New York ushering out three players this offseason and rushing in two new ones, this could play a vital role in getting the team playing the type of hockey they need to play and not just looking the part against a team that had lost eight straight coming in.

When I asked Clutterbuck about looking forward to getting out on the road, his eyes lit up. “Oh, yeah. Been looking forward to it for a long time. People look at a homestand like this and think it’s great. But it’s tough. It’s being in one place for a long period of time, it gets redundant and it’s easy for you to get into the ‘groundhog day’ type of feel. It will be really nice for us to get away for a couple of days.”

On my way out of the locker room, I posed the same question to Thomas Hickey, not really expecting a different response. “I think it’s going to be good for our group. Look, it’s great to be at home and play in front of your own fans, sleep in your own bed and be with your families. But, at the same time, our routine is usually changing every single day so it’s weird when you’re home for a couple weeks like

My domination of easily breezing by my neighbors in street hockey and always ranked at the top of stat sheets for scoring in recreational hockey, abruptly ended when I joined my first competitive travel hockey team. My first game exemplified the setbacks my fear imposed on my team when I frighteningly moved out of the way of an enormous player to grant him a free pass to the net in which he scored the game winning goal. Shamefully looking at me as if I were an ally of the other team, I became alienated after my team after they began the tradition of…

After that they’ll make their way to face Chicago with a meeting against the Blackhawks then finishing up two days later in Dallas. 1) The coach had the ideals that the value of the team as a whole was far more valuable than one individual player. The team followed the same path as the “Part of the House” tale where each member realized the value of the system as a whole and eventually came to support it. First, the idea of systems thinking is introduced when the head coach plans to run his team off of a combination of the Russian and Canadian teams’ approach where each player serves a specific purpose. Next, the principles of systems thinking is shown at the beginning of the movie when the coach is choosing the roster of the team. The head coach chooses the players based on the way they fit into his designed system not whether or not they’re the most skilled.…

I have grown up watching, playing, and studying many different sports, whether it be football, or baseball, or basketball, or sometimes even soccer. I have always enjoyed playing sports, however, as an athlete, I have a distinct responsibility to practice sportsmanship. Sportsmanship is one of the most important facets of sports today. Sportsmanship allows us athletes to hate the other team for the duration of the game, but respect them at the same time. Sportsmanship is defined as “fair-play, respect for opponents, and polite behavior by someone in a competition.”…
